COVID Assessment and Testing
The Mid North Respiratory Clinic is a dedicated COVID-19 clinic open Monday to Friday from 2.00pm-5.00pm for all patients who have cold/flu (respiratory) symptoms that require medical assessment and testing. Symptoms that the clinic will assess include:
- Dry Cough
- Sore Throat
- Runny Nose
- Other respiratory related symptoms
Clinic appointments are strictly via appointment only. No walk-in appointments are possible. You do not need a referral from a GP to make an appointment.
Please book ahead using the following methods:
- Book Online
- Calling Clare Medical Centre on (08) 8841 3777
Patients will receive a registration link via SMS upon booking an appointment that they will be required to complete. On arrival patients are asked to remain in their car, in the designated MNRC car parks until called into the clinic to limit cross-exposure. On entering the clinic, patients will be asked to wash their hands with sanitising gel and will be provided with a face mask.
A dedicated clinical team dressed in protective gear will determine the need for throat/nose swab testing within the clinic. Given the changing nature of testing criteria, not everyone will qualify for a test.
Once a patient is swabbed, the patient is required to isolate until they have received a negative result. Swab test results are sent to the patients mobile by SMS directly from the SA Pathology Lab. A summary of the patient visit will be forwarded to the patient’s usual GP.
If you are an Essential Traveller or Interstate Visitor, and required to be tested for COVID-19, but DO NOT have any respiratory symptoms, these tests CANNOT be done at our Clinic. Instead please visit SA Health Website to locate the nearest COVID-19 Testing Centre. MNRC are only able to provide testing to ASYMPTOMATIC patients.
This is Commonwealth funded clinic and is at no cost to the patient.
COVID Vaccination Clinics
Clare Medical Centre is part of the National COVID19 Vaccine Rollout Program. Currently we are able to offer Astra Zeneca and Pfizer vaccinations to those who meet the Commonwealth government eligibility. If you are eligible, please call (08) 8841 3777 to book in.
Please be aware that you will be required to wait once you have been given the vaccine for 15 – 30mins for observation. At your initial appointment for the first dose, you will be provided with a follow up appointment for 12 weeks’ or 3 weeks’ time, depending on the vaccine administered to receive your second dose.
If you would like to discuss receiving the vaccine with your GP beforehand, please book a separate appointment prior to the vaccination appointment.
Please be patient with us while we try to deliver as many vaccines as possible, as we are only able to offer as many vaccinations as we are allocated by the government. Doctors will not be able to give COVID vaccinations at routine appointments as all available vaccines have been allocated to our COVID Vaccination Clinics each week and the vaccine stock provided to us is in multi-dose vials. We must also abide by the strict eligibility criteria set, so please do not be offended if we are not able to offer you your prefer vaccination.
