COVID Assessment and Testing
The Mid North Respiratory Clinic is a dedicated COVID-19 clinic open Monday to Friday from 4.00pm-5.00pm for all patients who have cold/flu (respiratory) symptoms that require medical assessment and testing. Symptoms that the clinic will assess include:
- Dry Cough
- Sore Throat
- Runny Nose
- Other respiratory related symptoms
Clinic appointments are strictly via appointment only. No walk-in appointments are possible. You do not need a referral from a GP to make an appointment.
Please book ahead using the following methods:
- Book Online
- Calling Clare Medical Centre on (08) 8841 3777
Patients will receive a registration link via SMS upon booking an appointment that they will be required to complete. On arrival patients are asked to remain in their car, in the designated MNRC car parks until called into the clinic to limit cross-exposure. On entering the clinic, patients will be asked to sanitise their hands.
A dedicated clinician dressed in protective gear will determine the need for throat/nose swab testing within the clinic. Given the changing nature of testing criteria, not everyone will qualify for a test.
If a patient is swabbed, the patient is required to isolate until they have received a negative result. Swab test results are sent to the patients mobile by SMS from the SA Pathology Lab. A summary of the patient visit will be forwarded your nominated usual GP.
This is a Commonwealth funded clinic and is at no cost to the patient.
COVID Vaccination Clinics
Clare Medical Centre is part of the National COVID19 Vaccine Rollout Program.
Currently we are offering Pfizer vaccinations to those who meet the Commonwealth government eligibility.
If you are aged 65 years or older, you are eligible for the Winter COVID booster, if it has been 4 months since your last dose.
If you are eligible (or are unsure if you are, as the age criteria often changes), please call (08) 8841 3777 to book.
Please be aware that you will be required to wait after your vaccine for 15 – 30mins for observation.
If you would like to discuss receiving the vaccine with your GP beforehand, please book a separate appointment prior to the vaccination appointment.
Doctors will not be able to give COVID vaccinations at routine appointments as all available vaccines have been allocated to our COVID Vaccination Clinics. We must also abide by the strict Commonwealth eligibility criteria, so please do not be offended if we are not able to offer you your preferred vaccination.
